WELCOMING SHABBAT

Shabbat is more than a day of refraining from worldly activity.

When experienced to its spiritual fullest, its holiness enlightens all other days of the week.

We invite you to enhance your Shabbat with these words of Torah.

The Truth about Zionism – Parshat Va’etchanan

Moshe Rabbenu is associated with the quality of Netzach – eternity. Everything he did was for eternity. Indeed G-d gave the Torah through Moshe because the Torah is eternal.

If Moshe had entered the land of Israel with the Jewish people, then their entry would have been an eternal entry… But Hashem knew that Jewish people would have to… be exiled because they wouldn’t be able to maintain the high spiritual standards that the land demands.

[The Jews will not all live in the land of Israel until the process of tikun (rectification) will be completed. Indeed]… the heart of every Jew longs for the land… Our daily prayers… our petitions to G-d are saturated with the name of the land of Israel…

The Jewish people have never lost that same longing for Israel that Moshe felt…”
