WELCOMING SHABBAT

Shabbat is more than a day of refraining from worldly activity.

When experienced to its spiritual fullest, its holiness enlightens all other days of the week.

We invite you to enhance your Shabbat with these words of Torah.

Unifying the Physical and Spiritual

Unifying the Physical and Spiritual

Trugman, Rabbi Avraham Arieh and Rachel
December 24, 2021

One of Judaism’s basic goals is the unification of the physical and spiritual realms, both on the practical and mystical levels.

The relationship between the physical and the spiritual can be compared to that of matter and energy. Science changed our perception of reality forever when it revealed that matter is in essence pure energy.

The pursuit of this profound truth… is intimately bound up with the final redemption and Mashiach’s task in the world, [which is] to educate humanity, to introduce an irreversible sea change in human consciousness [allowing us to] perceive the Divine unity underlying reality and the consummate union between the physical and spiritual spheres.”
